SUMMER 2007 PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

 

 

 

SKILLS PROGRAMS (GIRLS OR BOYS)

MONDAY AND TUESDAY NIGHTS

 

 

Mike O'Neil and Paul Sacco will once again return to run our successful 8 WEEK, WEEKLY skills program for Mite, Squirt, and Pee Wee and Bantam age players. Each of these programs will meet once a week for 8 weeks.

Age groups for the summer of 2007 are defined as the age group a player will be for the 2007-2008 season.

The program is designed around the following weekly lessons:

 

Week 1: Discovering your edges

Week 2: The importance of balance

Week 3: Stopping and starting

Week 4: Hockey turns/ quick acceleration

Week 5: Backward skating and transition checking

Week 6: Crossovers

Week 7: Shooting and Stick handling

Week 8: Battle Skills and Body Checking

 

All of our weekly lessons are weekly skills are reviewed each

week with the purpose of building a foundation for the young player!

 

ONE80 PROFFESSIONAL TRAINING JOINS MARTIAN SPORTS SKILLS

Martian Sports Skills is pleased to announce the partnership between One80 professional training and the participants of our Hockey and lacrosse programs. During the summer of 2007 One80 will provide an optional training program for participants enrolled in any of our summer programs. This program is open to any player that is Squirt age and above.

The office instruction will be conducted for one hour each week prior to the on ice skills session for each age group. The cost for this 7 week program will be an additional $35 per child.

MARTIAN CUP TOURNAMENT 2007

Martian Sports Skills is pleased to announce that our 9th annual tournament will cap off our summer skills programs. This tournament is the highlight of all of our participants as they play for the right to carry the cup around the ice like their hero's of the NHL. The winners will also have their name etched on the cup for future players to admire. The Martian Cup tournament is a one night tournament and is included in the tuition for player involved in our skills program.
