MARTIAN SPORTS SKILLS AND STOP IT GOALTENDING

PARTNER TO OFFER 8 WEEK GOALTENDING INSTRUCTION

FOR THE SUMMER OF 2009

MARTIAN SPORTS SKILLS AND BRIAN DACORD’S STOP IT GOALTENDING SKILLS WILL COMBINE EFFORTS TO OFFER OUR POPULAR ONCE A WEEK GOALTENDING SKILLS. OUR PROGRAM

PROVIDE A STRUCTURED PROGRAM BASED ON EARLY GOALIE FUNDAMENTALS. WE WILL PROVIDE INSTRUCTION TO YOUNG GOALIES THAT ARE TRUE BEGINERS AS WELL AS PLAYERS WITH ADVANCED SKILLS. GOALIES WILL BE PLACED ON A 3-1 RATION AND DIVIDED BY SKILL AND AGE.

OUR PROGRAM IS DESIGNED AROUND

PLAYERS WHO WANT INSTRUCTION FROM A PROFESSIONAL STAFF WEEKLY THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER VS A WEEK LONG CAMP. THIS FORMAT ALLOWS YOUR GOALTENDER TO CONTINUE TO SHARPEN HIS OR HER SKILLS OVER A LONGER PERIOD AND ALLOW IT TO BE RETAINED. IT IS IMPORTANT NOT TO OVERLOAD A YOUNG GOALIE WITH TOO MUCH INFORMATION OVER A SHORT PERIOD OF A WEEK LONG CAMP. THE RETENTION LEVEL OF YOUNG GOALIES IS SHORT AND THE REPITITION OF INSTRUCTION IS MORE VALUABLE OVER A LONGER PERIOD OF REINFORCEMENT INSTRUCTION.

ALL GOALIES WILL BE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR XICE GAMES AND MARTIAN CUP TOURNAMENT.

Stop it Goaltending (formerly Superskills Goaltending) has had tremendous success in developing goaltenders of all levels and ability. Over the past six years alone Superskills has helped develop 20 NHL draft picks and we have over 50 goalies that have gone onto play major college hockey. We are proud of the success of these goaltenders but we are equally as proud of the instruction that we give the youth hockey goalie so that they can maximize their abilities and get the most enjoyment possible from the position and sport.
