Martian Hockey, Power Skating, Hockey Skills and Goaltending

 TEAM BLUE PULLED OUT OF THE BIGGEST UPSETS IN MARTIAN CUP HISTORY WITH A 1-0 SHOOTOUT UPSET OF TEAM ORANGE IN THE FIRST NIGHT OF ACTION IN THE 2008 MARTIAN CUP FINALS.

TEAM BLUE, BEHIND THE STELLAR GOALTENDING OF SEAN REID, DEFIED MARTIAN CUP HISTOR BY OVER COMMING AN 0-2-1 PRELIMANARY RECORD TO DEFEAT THE 3-0 ORANGE MACHINE LAST NIGHT AT PHILLIPS ACADEMY. TEAM ORANGE PRESSED FOR THE MAJORITY OF THE FINAL 10 MINUTES BUT COULD NOT GET THE PUCK PAST REID. REID’S ACROBATIC AND AGRESSIVE GOALTENDING PROVIDED THE SPARK FOR TEAM BLUE TO GET THE GAME INTO OVERTIME. TEAM BLUE PRESSED TEAM ORANGE IN THE OVERTIME BUT CAME UP EMPTY AS SEAN D'URSO CAME UP WITH 2 GAME SAVING SAVES IN THE ORANGE NET. THE GAME WENT TO A SHOOTOUT WHERE BOTH REID AND D'URSO SHUT DOWN THEIR OPPONENTS. IT TOOK 5 SHOOTERS AND TEAM BLUE CAME AWAY VICTORIOUS.

MARTIAN CUP 2008 WILL TAKE PLACE THE WEEK OF AUGUST 11, 2008. THE MINI TOURNAMENT IS A ONE NIGHT TOURNAMENT FOR EACH AGE GROUP. PLAYERS WILL BE EVAULUATED AND PLACE ON TEAMS. TEAMS WILL PLAY A SERIES OF 12 MINUTE RUNNING GAMES WITH STANDINGS BEING KEPT. TEAMS WILL BE THEN SET INTO A SINGLE ELIMINATION WITH SEMIFINAL AND FINALS TO BE PLAYED FOR THE RIGHT TO CARRY THE CUP JUST LIKE THEIR NHL HEROES.

NEW SKILLS PROGRAM FORMAT (GIRLS OR BOYS)

Skills and Cross Ice Combined program for the SUMMER of 2008!!

MONDAY, TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY

90 minute plus weekly sessions, 8 weeks, PHILLIPS ACADEMY

Martian Sports Skills will introduce a new format to our successful skills program for the SUMMER of 2008! We will combine the combination of our successful skills format and the success of the development of our Cross Ice game format. Each player will receive 60 minutes of skills instruction weekly and a 30 minute XICE GAME EACH WEEK. The first two weeks of skills will be solely concentrated on the development of players skating fundamentals. We will then combine our weekly skills and Cross Ice format (week 3-8) enabling the players to practice what they have learned under a 30 minute supervised game format with our professional staff.

New England's premiere Power Skating, Hockey Skills and Goaltending program!

The objective is to improve the respective player's skating and hockey, or goaltending, skills by offering them quality training from a highly experienced team of instructors coming from the college and professional ranks. The strongest emphasis will be on skating development. Instruction in the areas of stick handling, passing and shooting will be also be presented.

Open to Mite, Squirt, Pee Wee, Bantam, and High School Boys and Girls- Limited to 44 participants on a first come first serve basis - Full equipment required. Ratio of 1 coach to 5 players -

NEW! Martian Sports Skills and One80 off ice training program!

Martian Sports Skills and one80 sports training have joined together to offer our Squit age and above participants the option for off ice training prior to there skills sessions weekly. This 7 week program will be developed to meet your childs age and physical ability. Each of the 7 sessions will be held at Philips Academy. A nutrition and program outline will take place prior to the begining of the program.

All particpants in our squirt age and above sesssions will have the option of this 7 week off ice training program. This program will instructed by One80 professional instuctors. The program will be held 1.25 hours prior to the scheduled skill session each week. The cost for this additional instruction is $99 for the entire 7 weeks.
